摘要：A separator including a vibratory surface having a transverse slot and a platepositioned within the slot to form a grading gap. The plate is mounted independent ofsaid surface so that articles conveyed by said surface are decelerated before reaching thegrading gap and the downstream edge of the slot has a lip inclined downward at theangle of vibration of the vibratory surface.
