Teaching Procedures

Step1 Greeting and lead -in Hello, boys and girls! How are you today?

Now let’s learn an article called Do you remember what you were doing? And learn how to improve the reading ability. Step 2 Reading

1. Present .new words and expression

Show the Chinese meanings and phonetic symbols of the new words on the PPT. First let the students pronounce the new words aloud according to the phonetic symbols by themselves, then check their pronunciation, and offer help if necessary.

设计意图：让学生学会用音标读单词，学会自学，练习学生的发音。

2. Skim reading

Look at the pictures and the title in the passage. What do you think the passage is about? and try to find the answer to the following questions: 1) What was Robert Allen dong when Dr. King was killed? 2) Which day will Kate Smith never forget?

设计意图：通过看图片和文章的标题，猜测文章是干什么的，能激起学生的阅读兴趣。

3. Fast reading
