摘要：A pet food containing a cyclodextrin such as beta -cyclodextrin, such as a dogfood and a cat food. For example, a pet food in which a content of fat is equal to orhigher than 5 % by weight per solid part and a content of beta -cyclodextrin ranges from1 to 15 % by weight per solid part. A method of suppressing an increase of a body weightof a pet or reducing the body weight, characterized by feeding the aforementioned petfood to a pet to the extent that an ingested amount of beta -cyclodextrin ranges from0.1 to 5 g per 1 kg of body weight for one day. It is possible to provide a novel pet foodwhich is suited to a liking of a pet because of having the same taste and mouth-feeling asconventional pet foods, and which can suppress an increase of a body weight of a pet orreduce the body weight with the same feeding amount as conventional, and a methodwhich can suppress an increase of a body weight of a pet or reduce the body weightwithout impairing health of pets.
